The Hornet2 is a twin-motor electric winch developed by RED Winches for the 4x4 competition and motorsport markets, with features suited to high-performance motorsport events.

Standard Drum:

• The Std drum can hold 55m of 11mm plasma or synthetic rope.
• The Std drum can hold 45m of 12mm plasma or synthetic rope.
• The Std drum can hold 40m of 14mm plasma or synthetic rope.

XL Drum:

• The XL drum can hold 78m of 11mm plasma or synthetic rope.
• The XL drum can hold 67m of 12mm plasma or synthetic rope.
• The XL drum can hold 50m of 14mm plasma or synthetic rope.

These figures are the maximum amount of rope when precision-wound. We always recommend using 15% less rope to allow for line crossing and bunching.

High-Speed, High-Power Performance

• Standard Gear Set: Covers 30 metres in 25 seconds — equivalent to 72 metres per minute (236 feet per minute).
• Overdrive Gear Set: Increases line speed to cover 30 metres in 22 seconds — equivalent to 82 metres per minute (268 feet per minute).
• Drum RPM: Standard gears 202 RPM, Overdrive Gears 237 RPM
• Overvolting Option: Allows 24V operation on 12V motors for extreme power and speed (use with caution)

Gearbox

• Straight-Cut Gears: Manufactured from 655-M13 nickel chromium-molybdenum steel, case hardened to 1100 N/mm².
• Grease Lubrication: Easier field servicing compared to oil-based systems.
• Quick Access Design: Gearbox cover removal enables easy servicing in just five minutes.

Important Note: A vehicle with driver has to be 1800kg or less for overdrive gear set to work successfully.
